When I See A MAGA Hat

When I see someone wearing that hat I assume certain things like how they've been conned by a professional con who doesn't even understand how completely misguided he is. They'll tout about how great the economy is without understanding exactly how the economy works and that it's been improving for ten years straight. They'll laugh at "Libs" getting upset about things and then blow up coolers they already paid for because that cooler company changed the way they're doing discounts. They'll talk about how your feelings don't matter then use emotional arguments to try and convince you a border wall is going to save us all from "the invasion of illegals". They don't care about being right they care about having their opinions justified.

They say they want to make America great again but they don't understand what they really want is for America to go back to a past that will never return. They're wanting to bring the nation to 1950 when the world is ready for 2020. They want to drag us back to the past as they see it because the future scares the shit out of them. They rage so impotently about things they want to control and the hat is the embodiment of that rage. It was a statement of fighting the future and now?

Now it's just bitter trolling at a movement brought down by it's own authoritarian embrace of an indebted businessman who sees negotiation as a war to be won not as a zero sum game. This same businessman who attracted racists, misogynists, shallow moralists, internet trolls and angry bitter old men along with some people who meant well but couldn't understand exactly why they were so angry and hung to him like he was the last life boat on the Titanic only to find out too late he was the iceberg.
